Kaylee Bear Koss is an artist, writer and curator who has worked with community-based non-profit organisations and arts projects in several different countries over the past fifteen years. Kay arrived in Ireland from Tucson, Arizona in 2004 to complete an MFA in Virtual Realities at NCAD, exhibiting and working from Dublin until 2014, founding Moxie Studios [mox.ie] in 2005, The Irish Museum of Contemporary Art [www.imoca.ie] in 2007, and Steambox Studios & Gallery in 2012. [www.steambox.imoca.ie]. Currently Kay works in between Spain and Dublin.
Previous music projects include Stunt Lover, which played at Fringe Festival, Electric Picnic, Life Festival, and a few small venues in France, Italy and Austria. The new and current project is called KOSA, and experiments between solo performances and small band sets.
Kay is openly transgender and using art practice and research to investigate and clarify what that means personally, as well as in relationship to other people and a greater socio-cultural context.
